Yemeni Armed Forces aligned with the Houthis carried out preemptive strikes against Saudi military positions in the Jizan region, targeting command centers, weapons depots, and troop concentrations. The operation was executed amid escalating Saudi attacks on Yemeni border regions in Sadah and Hajjah, which included the firing of over 200 missiles from Jizan. Houthi units had also been monitoring a significant buildup of Saudi troops near the border preparing for further offensive actions. The Yemeni Armed Forces conducted a preemptive, high-impact, and extensive operation using dozens of ballistic missiles and drones, stated a Houthi spokesperson. The strikes targeted operations rooms, command and control centers, arms depots, and other critical sites linked to Saudi reinforcements in Jizan, including the 6th Emergency Division. He added that missile launch pads and platforms at the al-Daghareer camp in Jizan were also targeted, alongside several other Saudi military camps in the region. According to Houthi claims, "the operation resulted in the death and injury of hundreds of Saudi troops, including Yemeni and Sudanese personnel, as well as dozens of Saudi officers and personnel." He further noted that several Saudi weapons storage facilities were destroyed.
